Fine Guard Steriwash

  • Why is it important for me to sterilize my clothes?

For many years, using high temperature water and ordinary laundry detergents seemed like the perfect solution to clean and disinfect our clothes. Little did we know, bacteria and viruses were patiently waiting for us to unload our clothes to start their takeover. And this does not end there! These bacteria and viruses accompany us and multiply throughout the day and make their way into our homes. With Fine Guard Steriwash, say goodbye to these tiny yet powerful uninvited guests!

  • What is Steriwash?

Steriwash is the only laundry disinfectant that is proven to neutralize 99.9% of all bacteria and viruses AND keep them away for 7 days! Once your clothes are washed with detergent and then rinsed with Steriwash, they will be coated with a protective layer that will neutralize any virus or bacteria that comes in contact with the fabric for 7 days. It’s also 100% safe!

  • How does this self-sterilizing power work?

Think of Steriwash as a shield that protects you and your family all day – no matter where you are or who you meet!

Steriwash is introduced to your laundry at the rinse cycle. The Steriwash technology is deposited fully onto every fiber of your clothes, leaving a layer of positive ions that in-turn neutralize bacteria and viruses on a molecular level.

  • How do I activate the self-sterilizing power?

Step 1: Using the dosage device found inside the tub, take 1 scoop of granules and place it in the softener compartment of the washing machine. For extra-large loads, two scoops may be used.

Step 2: Place Steriwash in the softener compartment. It is very important that you do not mix it with softeners and laundry detergents as this can alter the efficacy of the product.

Step 3: Remove your clothes after the cycle and let them dry as you usually do.

Step 4: Put on your new self-sterilizing armor and you’re ready to conquer the world!

  • What is LIVINGUARD® Technology?

LIVINGUARD® is a Swiss technology that renders any textile into a safe and powerful disinfectant which kills 99.99% of viruses on contact. It is certified as 100% safe by “Product Safety Labs”, USA.

  • Do you sell any other products powered with LIVINGUARD® Technology?

Indeed! At FHH we constantly strive to offer solutions that will contribute to your safety and wellbeing. We are also producing Livinguard Masks and Wipes. For more details, please click here

  • How do I clean my Fine Guard Gloves?

All you need to do is rinse both pair of gloves with cold water and you're good to go. A little bit of soap is fine, but avoid using powerful cleaning agents, such as bleach, which will weaken the LIVINGUARD® Technology that the gloves are treated with.

  • What is the cost effectiveness of Fine Guard Gloves ?

The best way to evaluate costs of gloves is to look at cost per use. Typically buying disposable gloves, whilst being low in cash outlay, represents poor value for users. You have to change the gloves daily and throw the old ones away. Maybe you only pay $0.50/gloves, but this adds up with daily usage. This isn’t exactly eco-friendly to be tossing disposable gloves into our landfills by the millions everyday! 1 Fine Guard Glove equals to 420 disposable gloves.

  • How do I know what size to select?

Fine Guard Gloves come in 2 sizes- Medium and Large. Medium fits most average sized hands and large fits our friends with larger hands.

Fine Guard Sport

  • How do I use Fine Guard Sport Mask?

Using Fine Guard Sport is easy! Just orient the mask to the front of your face, with the Fine Guard logo facing outwards and upright. Make sure the nose clip is on the top, resting comfortably on your nose, and adjust this by pressing it together to form a tight seal. Stretch the elastic bands comfortably so they are resting over the top of your ears. Pull the bottom of the mask to stretch it over your chin and fasten the Velcro straps to a comfortable yet snug fit around the back of your neck. You are ready to work out!

  • Why are there two Fine Guard Sport Masks in each Box?

Good question! Have you ever seen a Wimbledon or French Open Tennis tournament and seen the players change shirts between sets? Of course! They do this because the shirts they wear are HYDROPHILIC (absorbing water) which makes them BREATHABLE. If the shirts were made to be HYDROPHOBIC (Waterproof) they would not breathe and be uncomfortable to wear.

Fine Guard Sport is the same. To make it breathable we chose to make it hydrophilic. It will absorb your sweat. And as it does this, the sweat will “clog” the minute openings in the fibers and make breathing progressively more difficult.

There are two quick fixes to this issue. The first is, if you dab your mask with a dry towel, much of the sweat/water will transfer to the towel; and you will notice the breathing rate will dramatically improve. The best option is, however, to simply switch to your other fresh mask—like the tennis player do---and keep going! And that’s why we offer two masks!

  • How do I clean Fine Guard Sport Mask? How I often do I clean it?

Cleaning your Fine Guard Sport mask is easy! All you need to do is wash it gently by hand in warm water. A little bit of soap is ok, but avoid using powerful cleaning agents, such as bleach or detergents, which will render the Livinguard Technology (which is impregnated in the mask), ineffective. Allow your Fine Mask to air dry.  Do not machine dry.

It’s hard to say precisely how often one should clean their mask, as it depends on many variables including wear time, sweat rate, and ambient air pollution. As a general rule, the mask should be washed at minimum of 1x per week, assuming regular usage.

THE LIVINGUARD TECHNOLOGY REMAINS FULLY EFFECTIVE UP TO 50 WASHES.

  • What happens after 50 washes?

The simplest way to think about Fine Guard Sport Face Mask, is to think of it as a normal textile Mask that is “on steroids”. Take a standard mask, add on top the power of Livinguard to neutralize bacteria and viruses, and it transforms into a “super-mask”.

After 50 washes, the Livinguard technology begins to degrade in performance gradually. For your maximum protection, we recommend changing to a new Fine Guard Sport upon reaching 50 washes.

  • What is the cost effectiveness of Fine Guard Sport Mask?

The best way to evaluate costs of a mask is to look at cost per use. Typically, buying disposable masks, whilst being low in cash outlay, represent poor value for users. You have to change the mask daily and throw the old one away. Maybe you only pay $0.50/mask, but this adds up with daily usage.

Fine Guard is a reusable mask that can give you many months of service. With this, Fine Guard Sport can cost as little as $0.10/day to use. 10 Cents per day! Well worth it for your peace of mind!

Fine Guard N95 & Comfort Masks

  • How do I use the Fine Guard Mask?

Using Fine Guard is easy! Just orient the mask to the front of your face, with the logo facing outwards. Make sure the nose clip is on the top, resting comfortably on your nose, and adjust this by pressing it together to form a tight seal. Stretch the elastic bands around your ears fully so the mask remains snugly in-place. And you are ready to go!

Finding Fine Guard a bit too big for your face and ears? No worries! There is a simple fix. All you have to do is move the silicone adjusters on the ear bands to fit your face.

  • How do I clean my Fine Guard Mask? How often do I clean it?

Cleaning the Fine Guard range of masks is easy! Start with using just cold water and a small amount of hand soap - no detergents or bleaches. Allow your mask to soak for 30 minutes. After soaking DO NOT WRING and simply allow to air dry.

For those with Fine Guard N95, please note that the valve is sensitive under water. Please pay special caution to the valve area, as when the fabric wets, the valve can become displaced. Please handle delicately when wet.

THE LIVINGUARD® TECHNOLOGY REMAINS FULLY EFFECTIVE UP TO 30 WASHES.

  • What happens after 30 washes?

After 30 washes, your face mask is still fine to use however the Livinguard technology which is the part that kills viruses on contact, may be less powerful. The mask is still effective to use but the lifespan of Livinguard is around 30 washes.

  • What is the cost effectiveness of Fine Guard?

The best way to evaluate costs of a mask is to look at cost per use. Typically, buying disposable masks, whilst being low in cash outlay, represent poor value for users. You have to change the mask daily and throw the old one away. Maybe you only pay $0.05/mask, but this adds up with daily usage. This isn’t exactly eco-friendly to be tossing disposable masks into our landfills by the millions everyday!

Fine Guard is a reusable mask that can give you several years of service. With this, Fine Guard can cost as little as $0.02/day to use. 2 Cents per day! Well worth it for your peace of mind!

  • How do I know what size to select?

Fine Guard comes in 2 sizes L & M. Also know that Fine Guard has adjustable bands around the ears so you can comfortably adjust the size.

  • Can Fine Guard be worn with glasses?

The mask sits right below the top part of the nasal bone so you can comfortably wear the mask with glasses.

  • Does the valve for the N95 Mask need to be cleaned? Is it replaceable?

The valve on Fine Guard N95 Face Mask will be cleaned during the handwashing process and you do not need to do any additional cleaning. The valve is not replaceable and if damaged (over-used), you will need to replace the mask.

  • What is N95 grade protection?

An N95 respirator is a respiratory protective device designed to achieve a very close facial fit and very efficient filtration of airborne particles.

  • I noticed my valve on the N95 Mask looks a bit displaced. What do I do?

The valve on Fine Guard N95 Face Mask is a simple one-way valve. It closes upon inhalation; and opens on exhalation. Normally some slight distortion is no cause for concern, as once you inhale it brings the seal into place and the valve works properly. How it might “look” in a non- usage state typically does not affect performance.

However, as the valve diaphragm is made up of a thin wax-coated paper, after washing several times it is possible the valve diaphragm becomes more distended than normal. In this case, this can be easily remedied in 2 minutes. Please see the below video for how to fix it yourself.

It is important also to remember the rules on how to wash your mask. Any kind of agitation can disrupt the performance of the valve.

Fine Guard N95 Face Mask cannot be refunded or exchanged for valve mis-function after purchase and use. It is a delicate component and any kind of improper use can lead to a non functioning valve. Thank you for your understanding.

A NOTE FROM OUR CEO ON FINE GUARD COMFORT VS
FINE GUARD N95

James Michael Lafferty Physiologist
CEO Fine Hygienic Holding

Our company makes 2 different kinds of masks. We make Fine Guard; which is an N95 and we have launched a new mask called Fine Guard Comfort; which is a streamline version. People ask me which one do you wear? I’m very quick to answer; I only wear Fine Guard Comfort and that leads to the question; why is that?

Let’s start with the whole concept of N95. Most people do not need an N95, in fact; it’s overkill. Let me explain; N95 means that the filter, filters out 95% of the particulates in the air, so the dust, the dirt, the pollution, bacteria and all that can be filtered out. N95 filters to a size of 0.3 microns, that’s very small, but let’s ask a different question; what’s the size of Corona Virus – Covid-19?

The size of Covid-19 is 0.125 that’s significantly smaller than the filtration of the N95 (42% smaller than N95 filtration). So, what you get with an N95 is outstanding at filtering larger chunks and droplets of the virus from a sneeze or a cough, but the individual viruses itself can still pass right through the mask. That’s why the real protection that comes with our masks, is the Livinguard technology.

The Livinguard technology is a very simple technology; which basically neutralizes bacteria and viruses on contact, so as they pass through the mask it neutralizes them. You may still be asking why don’t I want an N95? It doesn’t filter out every single virus, but why not have it?

There’s a couple of additional issues with an N95, the first is the N95 is basically the two white layers in the middle of the mask, because it’s so small and filters so much it’s very difficult to breathe. When I wear an N95 I struggle to breathe. Therefore, the WHO recommends that you should never put a child in an N95, because it can lead to pulmonary distress, it’s very difficult to breath through that mask. This is why we had to put a valve on it.

The valve is the black material on the right side of the mask. It is not a filter, it’s a one-way valve, when you breathe out; the diaphragm goes out, and when you breathe in; the diaphragm closes. Why do you have to put a valve in N95? Because it’s so difficult to breathe in and out, you need this valve to reduce heat. The valve has a real issue in the marketplace, a purpose of the mask is not only to protect the people wearing it, but it is mainly to protect other people. If you sneeze in a mask, it contains the sneeze. The problem with having a valve is that; if I sneeze; the sneeze exits the valve and goes out and can infect other people. When you put all of these together; while wearing the N95, I struggle to breathe, I sneeze and my sneeze gets out of the mask, on top of that I’m always manipulating, I’m touching the mask and I’m moving it because I’m so uncomfortable.

Then it dawned on all of us, if you don’t wear your mask right, if you don’t wear it properly, if you don’t wear it consistently and if you keep touching your face then it defeats the whole purpose of the mask. Why wear a mask if you think it’s protecting you but you keep moving it around, you keep moving it low on your nose, you keep manipulating it – touching it, and putting your hands inside the mask to move the mask around. That’s why we’ve come up with Fine Guard Comfort.

The real protection against viruses is the Anti-viral technology of Livinguard. That’s what protects you. Livinguard kills 99.99% of the viruses on contact. On top of that because it’s so comfortable, because it fits so nicely and because it’s so easy to breathe in, I don’t mind wearing it. I even forget that I’m wearing a mask most of the time.
That’s why I choose Fine Guard Comfort mask; because I wear it properly, because I don’t touch my face, because I wear it consistently, because I wear it properly around my face and because it has Livinguard. I’m more protected wearing this properly than I am wearing an N95 that I’m not wearing properly. You have to want to wear a mask and you have to wear it with discipline, with consistency and with a strong execution of how you wear it properly. If you don’t do that, it does not protect you. That’s why I also recommend my friends and family Fine Guard Comfort.

If you really want the right mask for you go with a Livinguard treated Fine Guard Comfort because that will protect you all you need, and you will wear the mask properly.

A NOTE FROM OUR CEO ON FINE GUARD COMFORT VS FINE GUARD N95

Many people have asked what is the difference between Fine Guard Comfort and Fine Guard N95.
We have Fine Guard N95 mask, and we have Fine Guard Comfort mask; which is a streamlined version.
People ask me which one do you wear? I’m very quick to answer; "I only wear Fine Guard Comfort" and that leads to the question; why is that?

There’s a couple of additional issues with an N95. One significant issue is that the N95 is a thick layer in the middle of the mask. Due to its thickness, it can be very difficult to breathe in. When I wear an N95 I struggle to breathe.

Therefore, the WHO recommends that you should never put a child in an N95, because it can lead to pulmonary distress as it’s very difficult to breathe in. This is why we had to put a valve on it.         Then it dawned on all of us, if you don’t wear your mask right, if you don’t wear it properly, if you don’t wear it consistently and if you keep touching your face, then it defeats the whole purpose of the mask. That’s why we’ve come up with Fine Guard Comfort.
